The Senior Manager, Construction & Development will help manage data center construction projects with an emphasis on mission-critical MEP systems.

Essential Functions:

  • Support planning and permitting of major projects
  • Work with Procurement to develop RFPs for General Contractors
  • Develop capital presentations for Director review
  • Negotiate contracts with Architects, Engineers, General Contractors, and Subcontractors
  • Maintain project budgets and present weekly for Director review
  • Lead design and development of major projects
  • Assist Project Development teams with utility coordination
  • Attend OAC Meetings
  • Work to implement new recycling programs for use during construction
  • Management of the documentation life cycle of the design/build projects
  • Assist the Senior Data Center Construction Manager in managing technical, contractual & procurement type requirements during the projects
  • Conduct weekly project status meetings and prepare weekly status reports
  • Assist in oversight of all engineers, subcontractors and vendors working on the projects
Minimum Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree, Architecture, Construction Management, Engineering or Equivalent
  • Civil, Structural, or Electrical background preferred
  • Understanding of large real estate developments
  • Minimum 7 years management experience in two or more of the following fields:
    • General contracting
    • Project accounting & procurement
    • Construction management
    • Project management
  • Minimum 4 years' experience as a leader of personnel
  • Demonstrated ability to implement strong cost controls
  • Ability to identify potential problems and resolve them in a timely manner
  • Ability to monitor and enforce schedule goals and project quality
  • Proven track record of delivering projects on time and at or under budget
  • Background in projects involving:
    • Data center construction a must
    • General construction
    • Heavy MEP systems construction
    • Overall critical facility knowledge
  • Willingness to travel 25% of the time
  • Proven ability to handle multiple construction projects simultaneously
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office software and Microsoft Project version 2003 or higher
  • Must be able to work with people at all levels
Experience/Skills:
  • 7+ years experience working in mission-critical data center Development, general construction, and heavy MEP systems construction.
