Job Summary
The Clinical Educator designs and conducts educational programs for clinical staff. Coordinates orientation programs for new staff members, develops programs to keep existing staff up-to-date, and acts as general resource for clinical personnel. Relies on education, experience, professional training and judgment to accomplish responsibilities. A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected. Works under minimal supervision. May lead and direct the work of others.
The successful applicant will possess at least 2 years RN experience in the Pediatric/Pediatric Intensive Care arena of nursing. The person in this role will work closely with those team members caring for the Pediatric population, primarily on the Pediatric Unit and the PICU at Lourdes WCH. The successful applicant will be motivated to obtain their PALS certification within 6 months of hire and eventually obtain their PALS Instructor certification.
Minimum Requirements
Experience: 2 years RN experience
Education: graduate of an accredited school of nursing
Special Skills: Good oral & written Communication, interpersonal, critical thinking, organizational, time management, research & publication skills & public speaking skills. Proficient in Microsoft Office systems.
Licensure: Current RN license by the Louisiana State Board of Nursing and BLS Certification. BLS Instructor within 3 months hire
