TAX MANAGER

Job Description

The Firm is looking for a self-motivated person with good communication and analytical skills to join our Tax Department. The Tax Manager will review federal, state, and local income tax returns for business and individual clients. You will quickly begin to manage clients with the opportunity of becoming a Partner. The Firm has clients in a variety of industries exposing you to an assortment of experiences while working in a relaxed atmosphere conducive to growth as a team.

Major Responsibilities:
  • Understand pertinent tax laws and regulations.
  • Review of business and individual federal, state, and local income tax returns.
  • Research, tax planning, and client tax projections.
  • Income, Estate, and Gift tax consulting with clients.
  • Assist with education and development of staff.
  • Learn to utilize firm computer hardware and software systems.
  • Understand Firm work papers, requirements, and preparation techniques.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelors or Master's degree in Accounting.
  • CPA certification.
  • 8+ years Tax Preparation experience.
  • Ability to manage client engagements.
  • Ability to mentor and manage staff
  • Excellent organizational and oral and written communication skills.
  • Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to work extended hours during busy season.
  • Ability to use MS Word and Excel efficiently.
