The Accounting Manager is responsible for leading and building a strong financial team who can motivate others to perform at their full potential. They will provide training and information to team members and complete more complex special projects and assignments. The Accounting Manager will review internal accounting processes and procedures. We believe leaders are successful when their teams are successful This role will be responsible for bringing our Goldmark vision of creating a better living for our customers and our communities to life at their individual property level. They will drive their teams to focus on customer service and quality as the Goldmark differentiator in making our residents feel at home. The Accounting Manager will take pride in serving others and delivering a caring and professional experience for our residents, our client-owners, and our fellow team members. Starting salary $70,000 per year (or more based on experience). Live and work with Goldmark and receive a generous RENT DISCOUNT as a part-time or full-time team member Job Duties Include: Serve as a support to the field positions as a resource for complex resident questions and concerns. Assist the Accounting Directors in the development and implementation of effective annual property budgeting processes. Perform more complex accounting assignments requiring additional knowledge and experience. Examples include accounting for more complex residential or commercial properties or payroll accounting. Strong understanding and experience in managing and analyzing financial statements and budgets. Demonstrates knowledge and application of accounting principles, including Goldmark accounting practices, cash flow, and accrual accounting. Hire, train, develop, and lead team members to perform at their best with a focus on transforming the lives of those we serve. Participate in the final review of property financials before submitting to owner-clients. Problem solve property financial reporting errors and discrepancies to determine root causes and identify solutions. Meeting of deadlines for financial reporting. Experience and Education: High School Diploma or GED required. Four-year bachelor’s degree in accounting, CPA strongly preferred. Three or more years experience in an accounting role with a CPA firm or accounting department with multiple customers or divisions. Prior People Leadership and Management experience preferred. Familiar with federal, state, and jurisdictional laws and regulations concerning multi-family housing, Fair Housing, and team member safety. Proficiency in Microsoft Suite including SharePoint, Word, Outlook, and Excel is preferred. Ability to multi-task, prioritize responsibilities, manage time, as well as possess an orientation toward details. A motivated, well-organized, and self-directed individual who is also able to motivate and guide others. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.
