Job Summary: The Athletic Major Gifts Associate Director is responsible for identifying, cultivating, soliciting, and stewarding prospective donors for the University of Alabama Department of Athletics. This role is accountable for meeting monthly revenue and productivity goals, cultivating relationships with new individuals, corporations, and foundations, soliciting gifts, and coordinating with other athletic department fundraisers to maximize gift potential for Alabama Athletics.

Minimum Qualifications: A bachelor's degree and two years of development, fundraising, sales, communications, or public relations experience; or a master's degree with some development, fundraising, sales, communications, or public relations experience are required for this role. Travel is required, and the candidate must be able to work nights, weekends, and holidays on occasion. A valid U.S. driver's license is required, and the candidate must be at least 19 years of age at the time of hire and have an acceptable Motor Vehicle Report that is in compliance with University policies.

Skills and Knowledge: This role requires a self-motivated and results-oriented individual with excellent verbal and written communication skills, interpersonal skills, and a positive attitude. Ability to effectively develop and manage a portfolio of donors and prospects, and proficiency with personal computers using word-processing software and standard software packages are necessary for the position.

Preferred Qualifications: A bachelor's degree and three years of experience in development, fundraising, sales, or public relations, or a master's degree and two years of experience in development, fundraising, sales, or public relations are preferred. A degree in Business Administration, Sports Administration, Marketing, Management, or related fields is also helpful. Additional knowledge in the areas of planned giving and experience in Intercollegiate Athletics, Higher Education, or Not for Profit Organizations would be preferred. Knowledge of Paciolan and Blackbaud CRM is a plus.
