This is a 1.0 FTE (80 hours per two week pay period) opening.

The Eagan Clinic is one of the largest clinics in the Fairview system. This site is an instructing facility with a resident clinic as well as a Med student program as well as Model Clinic for our Primary Care Service Line. We are a New Clinic (structurally) with an improved layout and design. This is a stand-alone clinic in a growing business area with phenomenal shopping, food/restaurant, and walking opportunities. We also offer free parking and can easily get to major roads and highways. Many at our location choose to make Eagan home and build community ties, while others appreciate the ease of a commute to our site.

Responsibilities/Job Description:

Greets and welcomes patients into the clinic. Verifies, registers and schedules patients with accuracy and efficiency. Verifies's insurance and demographic information. Reviews and maintains patient accounts, secures financial arrangements on self-pay balances prior to and during patient appointments.

  • Registers and verifies insurance and demographic information with the patient according to established guidelines.
  • Verifies patient insurance coverage, eligibility, contract group number, effective dates and coverage, correct insurance, and billing address.
  • Informs patients of insurance coverage co pays or self-pay policy and documents in patient account for front desk staff.
  • Monitors patient balances on patient accounts and informs patients of outstanding balances to ensure appropriate financial arrangements.
  • Researches and facilitates patients questions and concerns according to established guidelines and procedures.
  • Maintains knowledge of, and complies with, all relevant laws, regulations, policies, procedures, and standards.
  • Actively participates in creating and implementing improvements.
  • May occasionally answer in-coming calls from patients or internal team members to assist in patient care.
  • Schedules appointments for patients with specified clinician according to scheduling guidelines, patients needs, and availability of clinician.


Qualifications:

Required

High school graduate or equivalent

Preferred

Completion of medical terminology course or equivalent experience and education preferred.

Excellent customer service skills and prior clinical experience is preferred.
