The position of Senior Grants Accountant will support the

Grants Accounting

function which is responsible for post award accounting, compliance, monitoring and reporting for federal, state, local and private grants and contracts. The position’s purpose is to ensure the college’s compliance with grantor’s requirements and excellent audit results.

The salary for this position begins at $68,778.00 and is determined commensurate with education and experience.

Review and monitor cash collection and grant receivable activities Coordinate meetings with Project Directors to review project finances – analysis and discussion to ensure compliance and minimize unspent funds and negative budget variances Act as point person with Project Directors and Office of Grants Development staff on financial questions, including historical amounts and projections for select grants and contracts Assist with preparation of year-end work papers for audit of restricted funds Research and study the grant rules and regulations, contract terms, college policies and procedures in order to apply and monitor grants Responsible for faculty time and effort reporting Review work of Grants Accountant and act as manager to Grants Accountant in absence of Manager, Grants Accounting Assist with sub recipient monitoring Assist in maintenance of Project task list to ensure all tasks and reporting deadlines are completed on time Review applicable financial aid GL accounts and prepare journal entries as necessary Assist with desk reviews and audits by outside agencies for restricted projects or grants Other duties as assigned Requirements

Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field required Minimum of 3 years highly relevant work experience in an accounting related function required; grant accounting experience preferred Professional oral and written communication skills required High level computer skills with demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel/Word/Outlook/etc.); prior work experience in Ellucian Colleague preferred Strong analytical, problem solving and organizational skills required Ability to work independently and as a member of a team unit required Ability to work on multiple tasks simultaneously while providing great attention to detail and meeting all prescribed deadlines required Supplemental Questions
