HR Worker's Compensation Specialist

We are currently searching for a Human Resources Worker's Compensation Specialist for our client who will work closely with employees, management, providers and the insurance carrier to respond to and manage the company's worker's compensation cases. This position relies on a strong understanding and working knowledge of worker's compensation regulations and runs the company's return to work program to achieve claim resolution. The Worker's Compensation Specialist analyzes claim data and case metrics to and provides reports to management.

Responsibilities for the HR Worker's Comp Specialist:

  • Report work-related injuries to the insurance carrier in a timely manner.
  • Administer the day-to-day processing of worker's compensation cases.
  • Field questions from employees and act as their liaison with the carrier.
  • Communicate with providers regarding employee work statuses.
  • Collaborate with management to oversee employees in the return to work program.
  • Establish and maintain electronic files.
  • Send weekly transitional duty employee reports to Payroll.
  • Work closely with the insurance adjusters to communicate claim information.
  • Work with the Benefit Administration Manager to implement Family Medical Leave (FMLA) or Americans with Disability Act (ADA) requests, as relates to worker's compensation.
  • Analyze claim data and metrics to provide reports to management.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills in English
  • Demonstrated understanding of worker's compensation regulations
  • Proficiency with the Microsoft Office suite - i.e. Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint
  • Ability to pay attention to detail
  • Ability to analyze data and communicate findings
  • Ability to collaborate with stakeholders
  • Must have a professional appearance and demeanor
  • Ability to work well with internal and external customers
  • High school diploma or its equivalent
  • Minimum of three years of experience in the worker's compensation field, including FMLA and ADA
Preferred Skills:
  • Some experience working in a Human Resources function
  • Bachelor's degree
  • Bilingual - able to read, write and speak Spanish proficiently


Compensation: $70k-$90k/year with a full benefits package

Hours: In office, Monday to Friday 8am to 5pm
