Student Services Coordinator

Job Classification: Certified 10-month (200 days)
Qualifications: Valid Georgia professional certification and at least 5 years experience teaching students with disabilities. Leadership experience working with students with disabilities is preferred.

SUMMARY: The Student Services Coordinator will be responsible for managing the daily operations of Student Services and Special Education and communicating and collaborating with staff in support of system and department goals, priorities, and continuous improvement efforts. In particular, the Student Services Coordinator will:
- ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Communicate regularly with the Director of Student Services regarding program operations.
- Coordinate student support and student services.
- Assist with maintaining and monitoring compliance for special education and student services.
- Assist special education teachers and related services providers in conducting evaluations and observations of referred children.
- Supervise the maintenance of case records on special education students and the completion of all required reports.
- Supervise and coordinate Section 504 services and 504 Coordinators at all schools.
- Supervise and coordinate PBIS with all schools and serve as the district coordinator for PBIS.
- Facilitate regular meetings with MTSS/RTI Coordinators at all schools.
- Facilitate progress monitoring initiatives at each school.
- Serve as a point of contact for families whose children are referred for special education.
- Attend IEP meetings as needed.
- Attend and actively engage in special education team leader meetings.
- Chair planning and placement team meetings as determined by the Director of Student Services.
- Monitor curriculum and assessment implementation in classrooms and analyze achievement data.
- Meet regularly with school leadership regarding inclusion of identified students with typical peers and ongoing staff collaboration.
- Provide instructional coaching and feedback to certified and non-certified staff.
- Provide direct support to students and/or staff as needed.
- Under the direction of the Director of Student Services, plan and provide professional learning experiences responsive to staff needs and focused on system and department goals and priorities.
- Collaborate with administrators and staff to plan student transitions.
- Provide budgeting and scheduling information to the Director of Student Services and participate in the hiring/induction of special education staff as needed.
- Engage in such other duties, tasks, and responsibilities as may be assigned by the Director of Student Services.

- Must hold or be eligible for State of Georgia certification in Special Education - General Curriculum (P-12)
- At least 5 years' experience teaching students with disabilities.
- Consideration will be given to the following:
- Relevant and recent leadership experience
- Deep knowledge of best practices in educating young children with disabilities
- References that indicate excellent teaching talent, initiative, growth mindset, and a learner orientation
- Deep knowledge of the MTSS/RTI process
- Philosophy that aligns with the system's core beliefs
