Apply todayPOSITION SUMMARYThe material handler is responsible for operating a forklift to move, locate, relocate, stack, and count product. The Operator is accountable for the safe and efficient operation of the vehicle and may also be required to perform production operation duties.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONSEnsure outbound shipments are accurate and free of damage. Report quality variances.Load, unload, move, stack, and stage product and materials using a forklift, or other power equipment.Maintain the facility equipment and materials in a neat, clean, and orderly fashion.On a daily basis, inspect and perform minor maintenance on the forklift or other equipment.Operate all equipment in a safe and efficient manner following prescribed work methods.Assist in physical inventories. Ensure proper stock rotation.Maintain a clean, neat, and orderly work area. Assist in maintaining the security of the warehouse. Conduct operations in a manner that promotes safety. Comply with OSHA and SDS Standards.Performs other related duties and assignments as required.WORKING CONDITIONSVariable temperature conditions depending on staging areas of product. Operation of the fork truck in outdoor conditions is sometimes required. Continuous movement of material throughout the production floor results in hectic, cluttered conditions. Operation of the fork truck in high traffic pedestrian areas requires extreme caution and attention to detail.PHYSICAL DEMANDSPhysical exertion required with occasional lifting of up to 40 pounds.
