Job Overview

Position: Material Handler

Shift Hours: 3:30 PM - 1:00 AM, Monday to Friday, with occasional overtime available. *Initial training will be conducted during the first shift.

Compensation: $21 - $24 per hour, with additional shift differential pay.

Role Summary:

  • The Material Handler plays a crucial role in assisting the fabrication facility by performing various tasks such as loading and unloading steel materials from delivery trucks, transferring steel to production tables, and operating forklifts as necessary.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience with overhead cranes is essential.
  • Forklift operation experience is mandatory.
  • Ability to maintain a constructive work environment through effective communication with colleagues, clients, and supervisors.
  • Adherence to the company's safety protocols and procedures is required.
  • Flexibility to work varied schedules, including overtime and weekends, is necessary.
  • Basic mathematical skills are required.
  • Capability to work in both hot and cold environments is essential.
  • Must be able to stand for extended periods, up to 10 hours.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to multitask in a dynamic setting are important.
  • Experience in truck jockeying is advantageous.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate forklifts as required.
  • Perform rigging tasks, including jacking and staking.
  • Load and unload steel from trucks efficiently.
  • Transfer steel to production lines as needed.
  • Carry out additional tasks to support the fabrication operations.
