Goddard is seeking a

Senior Mechanical Engineer

with 5+ years of relevant experience as defined below to join our team. This position will be remote from the Goddard offices and predominantly onsite at a client location in Seattle.

Core relevant skills/experience:

Bachelors degree in mechanical engineering or related field Industrial automation and/or Medical Device Mechanical design and DFX, particularly with respect to sheet metal, machining Mechatronics 2D drawing creation, GD&T PLM Project management and team leadership In this role, we will ask you to:

Lead, advise and assist in the design and execution of projects from initiation to completion, ensuring on-time submission of deliverables. Work independently or with teams to design and test mechanical concepts for overall packaging strategies, mechanisms, and parts - all while balancing function, appearance, form, and budgetary requirements. Provide DFX expertise to ensure designs are optimized for manufacturability, serviceability, and sustainability. Generate and review 3D and 2D CAD models and drawings, performing tolerance analyses as necessary. Lead a team of engineers to execute projects and provide guidance to junior team members. Work independently with clients or as a lead/team member on larger projects. Manage and facilitate client interactions with clear communication as it relates to deliverables, design reviews and deadlines. Communicate to senior management any significant deviations from project plans. Coordinate internal team staffing and budget requirements for projects. Be a positive and success-oriented individual who is familiar with the latest product development, production, and rapid-prototype methodologies. Work with team members to resolve conflicts among resources and between clients and engineering teams. Remain apprised of the progress of certain projects, paying particular attention to any developing problems, and participate in major problem resolutions. Be proficient in the latest version of SolidWorks CAD package. Keep all privileged information private and confidential. Regular travel to South Lake Union (Seattle) expected; other travel may occur as well. About you:
