NOTE:

Depending upon the qualifications of the successful applicant, the hiring manager may elect to fill this position as a level I or II Engineer

Job Summary:

The Engineer I position is the entry level of the Engineering classification hierarchy. Employees in the Engineer I position solve problems in engineering areas of specialization with close supervision. An Engineer I is expected to develop skills, and the ability to work with greater independence. An Engineer I has knowledge of fundamental concepts and procedures.

Responsibilities & Duties:

•Update/ Maintain Distribution Integrity Management Program (DIMP) Plan
•Document DIMP Plan processes/procedures
•Make recommendations to investigate threats on the distribution system infrastructure based on observations and findings
•Develop and Facilitate DIMP Effectiveness Review
•Assess DIMP Risk Analyses
•Develop programs and budget based on risk, operational, or compliance needs
•Liaison w/Damage Prevention & Materials teams; failure analysis investigations
•Provide design input for capital charter development (DIMP/Corrosion/Casing)
•Consult with operations centers and the engineers to prioritize and approve DIMP-related projects that originate in the field
•Actively participate in industry associations (OGA/SGA/AGA)

Basic/Required Qualifications - Engineer I

  • Bachelor of Science in Engineering from an ABET accredited program or PE
Basic/Required Qualifications - Engineer II
  • Bachelor of Science in Engineering from an ABET accredited program or PE
  • Two (2) or more years of engineering experience or five (5) or more years of engineering experience with state registration as a Professional Engineer.
  • A Master's degree in Engineering will be considered in lieu of the B.S. Engineering degree
Desired Qualifications :
  • Six (6) or more years of related work experience
  • Professional Engineer and/or NACE CORROSION TECHNOLOGIST
  • Proficient in engineering theories and principles
  • Proficient in practices of researching engineering and design issues, evaluating alternatives, making sound recommendations, and preparing and presenting recommendations,
  • Demonstrated effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficient in principles of project management
  • Registered Professional Engineer (PE)
  • Experience in the utility industry
