Sales representatives are held accountable for delivering sales results, managing territory business plan, aligning Elanco activities with account needs, and implementing agreed upon strategies and initiatives. This position would be responsible for designing a strategic plan centered on the customer needs and coordinating an execution team to accomplish the mutual goals between our company and the customer. Your Responsibilities: Manage and influence complex customer/account decision making process.

Create, implement and influence direction of account strategy and Elanco strategy.

Manage accounts through on-going customer planning, account planning, effective expense management and appropriate communications consistent with Elanco’s sales and marketing objectives.

Build, grow, and ensure influence of account teams and fit Elanco resources to customer needs

Monitor, report and be accountable for account plan milestones to monitor success of tactics

Apply mobilization strategies to account activities to enhance account team’s ability to execute effectively under constantly changing circumstances

Deliver and transfer Key Messages and scientific information around Elanco products to key influencers / decision makers within the designated sales territory.

Identify and assess customer needs. Uncover customer’s solvable problems and opportunities. Incorporate the Elanco product portfolio (products, services, people) as a part of the solution.

Take a leadership role in deploying applicable and appropriate value-added services tools with key accounts tied to pre-established account unmet needs.

Achieve sales growth in territory

Represent the “voice of the customer” to Elanco management and marketing.

What You Need to Succeed (minimum qualifications): Bachelor’s of Science (BS) Degree or higher

Sales and influence experience

Passion for selling and animal agriculture

Demonstrated ability to develop goals, key milestones and action plans for key accounts

Ability to influence across multiple disciplines: veterinary, nutritional, processing, feed milling, sales and marketing, and senior management.

Savvy ability to develop, advance and maintain strong relationships

Self-starter with high initiative and sound work ethic

Demonstrated ability to learn, apply and communicate technical/scientific knowledge

Flexible to learning new products and disease states over time

Strong team member with ability to interact and coordinate resources across a diverse set of resources

Ability to relocate if necessary

What will give you a competitive edge (preferred qualifications): Minimum of 5 years selling or applicable production experience

Demonstrated business acumen

Additional Information: Position is field based.

Travel will be required. Overnight travel will depend on location (25-40% overnight travel).

Elanco currently

anticipates

that the base salary for this position could range from $99,100.00 to 165,100.00 depending partly on the successful candidate’s qualifications, including education and experience. Full-time equivalent employees

also will

be eligible for a company bonus (depending partly on company and individual performance). Additionally, Elanco offers a comprehensive benefit program to eligible employees that includes a company-matching 401(k); vacation benefits; eligibility for medical, dental, vision, and prescription drug benefits; flexible benefits (e.g., healthcare and/or dependent day care flexible spending accounts); life insurance and death benefits; certain time off and leave of absence benefits; and well-being benefits (e.g., employee assistance program, fitness benefits, and employee clubs and activities).
