Overview:

Responsible for the oversight of the training programs inclusive of assessing the effectiveness of the programs through objective measurements, providing feedback to upper management on training effectiveness, and ensuring the integrity of the training records for all employees. Will implement consistent and measurable best practice approaches to address plant operations.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelors degree required
  • 3+ years in a manufacturing setting (preferably food manufacturing) and a strong knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices and Safety programs and requirements
  • Experience in root cause analysis methods and gap assessments
  • 3+ years work experience as a Training Coordinator, Trainer, Training Facilitator, or similar role
  • Hands-on experience coordinating multiple training events in a corporate or plant environment
  • Adequate knowledge of learning management systems, web delivery tools, e-learning platforms, instructional design and implementation
  • Proven ability to complete full training cycle (assess needs, plan, develop, coordinate, monitor and evaluate)
  • Familiarity with traditional and modern job training methods and techniques SOPs, OPLs, Standard Work, Policy writing
  • Basic knowledge of document control and record keeping
  • Ablity to pivot priorities based on company needs and plant level priorities
  • MS Office proficiency including PowerPoint presentation creation and SharePoint familiarity
  • Advanced organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple assignments
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work independently
Working Conditions / Physical Requirements:
  • Frequent work in a hot and humid production environment
  • Occasional work required outside in various temperatures
  • This position may perform activities in an environment that contains hazardous elements and requires safety awareness and adherence to all safety policies and guidelines
  • Work must be performed in a safe manner for personal protection and for the protection of other team members
  • All safety procedures in all functional areas must be followed, enforced, and strictly complied with
  • Sitting, standing, walking, repetitive use of hands/arms/legs, and eye/hand coordination for 6+ hours a day
  • Ability to occasionally lift or carry 50 pounds
  • Occasional bending, reaching overhead, crouching, balancing, pushing, or pulling
  • Able to access all areas of the plant including the roof and areas above equipment
  • Ability to operate cars, trucks, and other powered equipment and tools
  • Occasional travel required
  • Must be able to wear all PPE that is required
Responsibilities:
  • Mapping out training plans and schedules, designing and developing training programs (outsourced or in-house) for on-boarding, specific job descriptions and annual refresher trainings for all employees
  • Conduct all on-board training and refresher training for plant and warehouse personnel across multiple shifts
  • Choosing appropriate training methods per case (virtual, simulated, mentoring, on the job training, professional development classes, etc.)
  • Researching and coordinating available training and certification opportunities to employees to develop our teams and individuals
  • Host train-the-trainer sessions for internal subject matter experts
  • Conduct organization-wide training needs assessment and identify skills or knowledge gaps that need to be addressed to reach AHN and Akron Plant goals
  • Train on and uphold all Quality, Food and Personal Safety standards and requirements
  • Develop and track training KPIs and present monthly to the management team
  • Assess instructional effectiveness and determine the impact of training on employee skills and plant KPIs (Production, Quality and Safety KPIs)
  • Attend daily DDS meeting for action items assignments and training needs
  • Present the training program and records during all customer and regulatory audits
  • Gather feedback from managers, supervisors, leads and trainees after each educational session
  • Partner with all Akron Plant departments regarding instructional design, requirements and needs
  • Maintain updated curriculum database and training records and review annually
  • Manage and maintain in-house training facilities and equipment
  • Research and recommend new training methods with the goal of developing the teams and individuals
  • Attend trials and pilot productions to develop the training for new processes and procedures
  • Spend adequate time on the production floor learning and documenting processes and procedures with production, maintenance, quality and safety team employees
  • Other duties as assigned
