Overview:

DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Orlando Downtown is seeking a dynamic and experienced Director of Finance to oversee all aspects of our Finance/Accounting Department. This executive-level position is critical in ensuring the hotel's financial performance and operational efficiency. The Director of Finance will act as a mentor to the finance team and will be deeply involved in the day-to-day operations of the hotel and the department.

Responsibilities:
  • Cash Flow Management: Effectively manage and communicate cash flow-related issues to management and ownership.
  • Forecasting and Budgeting: Coordinate the completion of all forecasts and budgets with the full and active participation of the Executive Team and department managers.
  • Financial Analysis: Analyze financial data and operations to assist and advise management in maintaining the hotel's financial objectives.
  • Balance Sheet Reconciliation: Ensure that all balance sheet accounts are reconciled on a timely basis.
  • Internal Financial Controls: Establish and continually audit all internal financial controls, including purchasing, cash handling, disbursements, credit extension, inventories, assets, master keys, payroll, and records.
  • Financial Reporting: Direct and/or prepare all financial reports in accordance with the companys requirements, meeting various due dates and deadlines.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure the hotel's compliance with all regulatory licenses and permits, leases, contracts, legal agreements, and the proper execution of all operational taxes.
Qualifications:
  • Minimum of 5 years experience as an Assistant Director of Finance or a Director of Finance in the hospitality industry.
  • Bachelor's or Graduate degree with a concentration in Business Administration, Accounting, or Finance. In the absence of a college degree, at least 10 years experience in a similar role.
  • Ability to assimilate complex information and data from disparate sources, and consider, adjust, or modify to meet specific needs.
  • Effective at listening, understanding, and clarifying concerns and issues.
  • Ability to work with and understand financial information and data, and perform basic arithmetic functions.
  • Strong prioritization skills to meet due dates and deadlines.
