Sr. Director, Executive Talent Mgt & Development Solutions

This role reports directly to the SVP, Talent & Learning, and partners closely with senior People Leaders, external partners, and colleagues across the Talent and Learning team to lead executive talent management and development solutions and processes, including overall strategy, approach, and supporting resources.

Key responsibilities:

  • Design and deploy tools, frameworks, and resources to support the business in developing future-ready talent that positions HP for growth. These solutions facilitate executive mobility, succession planning, career pathways, and individual/team development plans.
  • Provide thought leadership on Executive Talent Management processes, tools, and solutions, informed by external trends and industry best practices and in support of business strategy and needs.
  • Manage the executive assessment process for top talent in partnership with senior People Leaders, the Executive Leadership Team, and an external vendor. Use this process to glean insights that inform customized development plans and learning solutions to help leaders scale to roles of increasing scope and complexity.
  • Use talent data and insights to assess and define the leadership skills and capabilities needed to drive business outcomes now and into the future in alignment with business strategies and priorities.
  • Design and implement the overall executive/leadership development and teaming solutions portfolio for HP. This includes a blend of internally designed and externally resourced opportunities (e.g., executive education, coaching). It also includes creating experiential learning and skill-building opportunities that are outcomes-based and significantly contribute to developing a diverse, high-performing leadership bench.
  • Own the executive success strategy and solutions. This is the approach HP uses to ensure externally hired and internally promoted VP and above leaders thrive and are productive early on in their tenure in their new roles.
Team leadership and stakeholder engagement:
  • Lead a team of client-enablement (talent partners) and executive development & teaming solutions learning designers and facilitators.
  • Collaborate closely with senior People Leaders and Executive Talent Acquisition to ensure alignment with business needs, support the effective implementation of talent solutions and processes, and drive continuous improvement.
  • Support creating materials for HP's Board of Directors and Executive Leadership team that describe the health of the company's talent and learning strategy and outcomes.

  • Analytical Skills - ability to systematically gather information from a variety of sources, analyze information, identify implications from data, draw conclusions, and generate and effectively communicate recommendations and solutions that support the talent management strategy and goals.
Additional knowledge and skills:
  • Knowledge, skills, and experience in the execution of executive talent management initiatives.
  • Highly collaborative approach, with the ability to quickly build strong and trusted relationships across different levels and business functions.
  • Ability to execute daily with a bias for prioritization and action.
  • Comfortable working with ambiguity and thinking creatively about longer-term, sustainable talent development solutions.
  • Exceptional people leader and collaborative colleague.
Education and experience required:
  • Bachelor's degree in business and/or human resources related discipline; Master's in OD, Organizational Psychology, HR, or business strongly preferred.
  • Experience in Human Capital, Talent Management, OD, or HR consulting.
  • Demonstrated experience in executive talent management and project/program management.
  • Demonstrated experience interacting with and advising Directors and Executives in a dynamic, matrixed, global environment.
  • Strong business acumen acquired through either client-facing HR experience or business leadership roles.
