Overview:
The purpose of this position is to administer commercial operations efforts for the power generation fleet in order to obtain the best overall value on behalf of internal customers. This position is responsible for the solicitation, negotiation, and management of low to moderate value and complexity contracts for the acquisition of materials, equipment, and critical services.
PPL Corporation is the parent company of LG&E & KU Energy. This position will report in office on a hybrid schedule to the KU Ghent generation station.
Responsibilities:This position may be hired at the Contract Administrator I, II, Senior or Lead level. The level offered will be determined by the successful candidate's background and experience. The below position responsibilities reflect the Contract Administrator I level. Other Contract Administrator levels may include additional and/or varying responsibilities.
- Executes sourcing strategies in support of power generation safety, operations, engineering, construction, and maintenance activities within the fleet. Through bidding, selecting, negotiating, and contracting with approved suppliers, responsibilities include measurement and feedback of safety performance, risk mitigation and management, costs, and quality control.
- Establish strong relationships with internal business stakeholders.
- Partners with the companys Legal Department to optimize appropriate levels of risk mitigation and conducts negotiations with sophisticated (national and international) counterparties.
- Drafts, negotiates, and edits a variety of service, material, and equipment contracts; non-disclosure agreements (NDAs); and information technology protection agreements.
- Exhibit ownership of the entire procurement process for assigned initiatives from cradle to grave.
- Provides input on a strategic procurement plan that aligns with the company business plan and plant outage plan.
- Locates and provides opportunities to diverse suppliers, and works to develop and certify alternate sources of supply in areas where competition is not prevalent.
- Advises and assists internal customers and peers on ORACLE processing issues, and ensures compliance with and maintains accurate and auditable records in accordance with company policies and best practices.
- Drives continuous improvement and productivity with suppliers and internal customers.
- All other duties and projects as assigned.
Qualifications:

Contract Administrator I
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelors degree.
- One or more years of sourcing experience required.
- Basic knowledge of business law, commercial terms and conditions, and related legal issues.
- A high attention to detail, along with strong verbal and written communication are required. Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office applications is required.
- Valid drivers license required.
Contract Administrator II
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelors degree.
- Three or more years of sourcing experience required.
- Valid drivers license required.
- Working knowledge of business law, commercial terms and conditions, and related legal issues. Strong negotiation and an alytical skills.
- Demonstrated problem assessment and problem solving skills. A high attention to detail, along with strong verbal and written communication are required. Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office applications is required.
- Valid driver's license is required
Senior Contract Administrator
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelors degree.
- Five or more years of sourcing experience required.
- Demonstrated knowledge of business law, commercial terms and conditions, and related legal issues. Strong negotiation and analytical skills.
- Demonstrated problem assessment and problem solving skills. A high attention to detail, along with strong verbal and written communication are required. Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office applications is required.
- Valid drivers license required.
Lead Contract Administrator
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelors degree
- Eight or more years of sourcing experience required.
- Demonstrated knowledge of business law, commercial terms and conditions, and related legal issues. Advanced negotiation and analytical skills.
- Demonstrated problem assessment and problem solving skills. A high attention to detail, along with strong verbal and written communication are required. Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office applications is required.
- Valid drivers license required.
Preferred Qualifications
A bachelors degree in business, legal, or engineering. One or more years of sourcing experience with utility-related products or services preferred. Experience in electric generation and/or supply chain. Certified Purchasing Manager (C.P.M.) or Certified Professional in Supply Management (C.P.S.M.). Experience with electronic procurement platforms. Ability to adapt and manage multiple projects simultaneously. A holistic approach to initiatives with a strategic mindset.
Work Conditions
This position will report in office on a hybrid schedule. Normal office environment with occasional exposure to noise and elements of an electric generating facility. Infrequent overnight travel may be required.
