Welder Specialist

Industrial Trade Services is seeking a skilled Journeyman Welder to join our team. As a Journeyman Welder, you will be responsible for performing a variety of welding tasks, including pipe welding, structural welding, and metal fabrication.

• Selects and prepares materials and equipment for welding operations.
• Plans and executes welding layouts, assembly, and welding operations, applying knowledge of geometry, physical properties of metal, and welding techniques.
• Operates various welding equipment, including Gas-Metal Arc, Flux-Cored Arc, Gas-Tungsten Arc, Submerged Arc, and Shielded Metal Arc welding processes.
• Lays out, positions, and fits components together in various body positions.
• Bolts, clamps, and welds together metal components of products, such as piping systems, plate, pipe, and tube or structural shapes.

A high school diploma or its equivalent with previous years of experience in the field or in a related area is required. Has knowledge of commonly-used concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field. Relies on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job. Works under immediate supervision. Primary job functions do not typically require exercising independent judgment. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager.
