Actalent is seeking a hands-on, energetic, and experienced Electrical or Computer Engineer to provide concept definition, analysis, and integration of electronics systems for rugged mission and safety critical systems for Military, Aerospace and Vehicular environments. Through listening to customer challenges, and building on your previous experiences, you will find creative approaches that will solve the most challenging embedded electronics problems

Responsibilities:

+ Electronics design of aerospace products including microcontrollers, power supplies, protection, output drivers, and sensor signals circuitry

+ Work from customer requirements to determine systems and hardware requirements and design

+ Design for rugged environments, including extended temperatures, EMC, ESD, and vibration

+ Component selection, derating and detailed design for high reliability, severe environments

+ Generate test software used in the prove-out of hardware design and custom test equipment required for design verification, qualification and manufacturing of custom products

+ Prepare design documentation, project schedules, or test reports to track progress and performance

+ Create detailed bills of materials and help source electronic components

+ Troubleshoot electrical device problems to ensure that issues are resolved efficiently

+ Produce products according to specifications, using the most cost effective and efficient means

+ Analyze and evaluate new or improved electronic components

+ Include use of circuit theory, microcontroller design and development, and instrumentation

Qualifications:

+ BS or an advanced degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering or a related field

+ 10-15 years of circuit design experience for embedded aerospace or vehicular systems

+ Excellent problem solving skills

+ Proven ability to provide independent evaluations and application of engineering techniques, procedures, and criteria, using judgement in making adaptations and modifications

+ Excellent attention to detail

+ Strong communication skills

+ Ability to work on a team and with other departments to collectively meet the organizations and customers needs

+ + Demonstrated project management skills

+ Ability to create technical proposals and present ideas

+ Highly motivated with the ability to work autonomously
