Ginger Cove is currently seeking a

Chief Financial Officer (CFO)

to support our community.

The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) is responsible for working in accordance with established policies and procedures, and/or specific instruction from the Chief Executive Officer. Oversees all aspects of finance, accounting, and payroll for a $28 million annual revenue/ $130 million assets, not-for-profit Continuing Care Retirement Community. Essential Functions: Oversee preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements for Annapolis Life Care, Inc, Ginger Cove Foundation, and Ginger Cove at Home, including IRS Forms 990 documentation for each and related tax and information filings. Bond and construction accounting, including compliance with bank and/or bond covenants and external reporting requirements. Oversee appropriate maintenance of financial software applications and related processes, as well as interfaces with any software applications required to produce accurate and timely financial statements. Assume responsibility for the strategic information technology plan as it relates to financial services. Manage fiduciary responsibilities related to all compliance filings in relation to taxes, 403(b) plan and ERISA-budget (5500). Oversee banking relationships and treasury management. Manage property and liability insurance programs. Coordinate annual audit and actuarial analysis and related reporting. Oversee preparation of annual reports including Medicare Cost Report and the Medical Expense Deduction Letter. Coordinate and prepare annual operating and capital budgets, and cash forecasting. Prepare and submit the Annual Disclosure Statement to the Maryland Department of Aging. Attend quarterly resident meetings to review financial outcomes. Oversee the monthly close process, ensuring all expenses and revenues are properly stated and the close is completed by the 10th business day of the following month. Review actual performance vs budget with each department director with the goal of understanding the cause for any major variances and how to improve continued performance. Oversee and measure all monthly billing and collection processes with specific focus on billing and collections related to Medicare Part A and B billable services. Work with designated Group Purchasing Organization to minimize expense and optimize rebates. Compile all reports required by the CEO and the Finance & Audit Committee of the Board. Present materials at Finance and Audit Committee meetings. Maintain knowledge of changes and trends and employ industry benchmarks within the context of both financial reporting and budget creation. Perform other duties as assigned. Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in accounting, finance or closely related business field. Current certification as a Certified Public Accountant. Ten years of related experience of which no less than five years is successful management of a financial services office within the healthcare industry, preferably a Continuing Care Retirement Community. Knowledge of bond and construction accounting is required. Extensive knowledge of and experience with integrated management information systems and experience with planning and implementing software conversions preferred. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Exceptional organizational skills and impeccable attention to detail. Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications; Expert-level experience with Excel, developing and using spreadsheets, and use of formulas and function tools. Must have a valid form of federally-issued ID. Must have completed or be willing to complete educational requirements imposed by State regulations within the specified timeframe. Must present self in a professional manner, display genuine concern for elderly, and tact in dealing with others.
