Key Responsibilities: Strategic Planning: Develop and implement materials management strategies aligned with company objectives. Analyze market trends and forecast future material needs to ensure availability and cost-effectiveness. Procurement Management: Oversee the procurement process, including vendor selection, negotiation of contracts, and management of supplier relationships. Monitor and manage the supply base to ensure quality, cost, and delivery performance. Inventory Control: Implement inventory control systems to maintain optimal inventory levels and minimize excess stock. Monitor and analyze inventory turnover and identify areas for improvement. Team Leadership: Lead and develop the materials management team, including hiring, training, and performance evaluation. Foster a collaborative and high-performance work environment. Process Improvement: Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and reduce costs. Develop and maintain key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure and report on material management performance. Compliance and Risk Management: Ensure compliance with industry regulations and company policies regarding materials management. Manage risks related to material supply and develop contingency plans. Proficiency in materials management software and ERP systems. Exceptional leadership and team management skills. Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
