Key Responsibilities: Strategic Planning: Develop and implement materials management strategies aligned with company objectives. Analyze market trends and forecast future material needs to ensure availability and cost-effectiveness. Procurement Management: Oversee the procurement process, including vendor selection, negotiation of contracts, and management of supplier relationships. Monitor and manage the supply base to ensure quality, cost, and delivery performance. Inventory Control: Implement inventory control systems to maintain optimal inventory levels and minimize excess stock. Monitor and analyze inventory turnover and identify areas for improvement. Team Leadership: Lead and develop the materials management team, including hiring, training, and performance evaluation. Foster a collaborative and high-performance work environment. Process Improvement: Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and reduce costs. Develop and maintain key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure and report on material management performance. Compliance and Risk Management: Ensure compliance with industry regulations and company policies regarding materials management. Manage risks related to material supply and develop contingency plans. A Master’s degree or professional certifications (e.g., APICS) is preferred. Experience: Minimum of 8-10 years of experience in materials management, procurement, or supply chain roles, with at least 5 years in a leadership position. Proven experience in managing large-scale procurement and inventory operations. Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Excellent negotiation and vendor management abilities. Proficiency in materials management software and ERP systems. Exceptional leadership and team management skills. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Attributes: Strategic thinker with the ability to execute tactical plans. Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy and efficiency. Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
