We are looking for a proactive and passionate Marketing Associate to join our team at Sourcebooks Kids. This role is ideal for someone with 1-2 years of experience in publicity or digital marketing, ideally within the publishing industry. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in promoting our authors and books through strategic marketing initiatives, including social media, influencer partnerships, publicity campaigns, and author events. This position can be hybrid in Naperville or fully remote in the following states ONLY: AZ, CT, MD, MN, NC, NJ, NY, NV, OR, PA, TN, TX, WA, AND WI. What you'll do: Manage our influencer relationships, mailings, and database, creating innovative organic and paid influencer campaigns for board books, picture books, and middle grade books. Organize author events, including bookstore visits, school visits, and festival engagements. Plan and execute publicity campaigns to generate maximum exposure for our titles across traditional and digital media channels. Serve as a passionate advocate for our books internally, championing their success and ensuring alignment across departments. Assist in digital marketing efforts, including social media management, influencer outreach, ARC (Advance Reader Copy) and finished copy mailings, advertising campaigns, and email marketing. Act as the primary liaison between authors, agents, editors, and the sales team, effectively communicating publicity and marketing strategies for each book. What you'll bring: 1-2 years of experience in publicity, author event planning, or digital marketing, ideally within the publishing industry. Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to articulate strategies and engage effectively with stakeholders. Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize and manage projects independently while adhering to deadlines in a fast-paced environment. A genuine passion for children’s books and a keen understanding of current trends in publishing and digital media. Why Join Us?
