This isn't just any role – it's an opportunity to ensure that UTIA is represented in the best light by overseeing excellence in events management Additionally, the position will be responsible for representing the UTIA campus by overseeing parking management and assignments. The role requires the ability to graciously interface with stakeholders, staff, and VIPs. Attention to detail and a desire for success is also critical. As an Events Manager you will: Responsible for independently managing and executing all aspects of special events, from planning through post-event assessment. Serve in a public facing role representing the Institute among external audiences and partners including public officials, senior leaders of other organizations, donors, alumni, etc. Establish and maintain partnerships with internal service providers and external vendors and to assist with event execution. Ensure events are executed to the highest quality and that recurring events are delivered consistently. Provide oversight and guidance for all aspects of parking on the UTIA campus including special events parking, day-to-day parking, and addressing real-time issues as they occur. Align the UTIA events office with the strategic direction of the Institute and determine departmental goals and objectives that support the achievement of institute-wide strategic plans. Required Education/Experience: High school diploma and 5 years of progressively responsible direct experience managing events. Preferred Education/Experience Bachelor’s degree and 3 years of progressively responsible direct experience managing events. CEPS or other relevant events planning certification. To be successful in this role, candidates should possess: Demonstrated ability to independently manage projects and events. Ability and flexibility to work in a highly collaborative, fast-moving environment. Ability to monitor several concurrent projects. Ability to work well under pressure. Solutions-oriented and ability to resolve problems quickly. Exceptional organizational and time management skills. Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to interact with employees at all levels of the organization. Ability to coordinate with both in-house teams and outside vendors. Our ideal candidate has: Experience in a higher education environment. Supervisory experience. Other Information: Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis without the need now or in the future for sponsorship for employment visa status.
