Job Description:

The Accounts Payable Accountant is responsible for performing routine clerical accounting duties within a dynamic and fast-paced finance department, ensuring adherence to GAAP accounting standards. This hands-on role involves managing all aspects of the Accounts Payable function, including receiving and recording invoices, accurately coding them to the correct accounts, and processing payments to ensure timely and accurate disbursements. The AP Accountant will also work closely with purchasing parties to resolve any discrepancies and provide administrative support for the company's credit card process, including issuing employee cards and managing spend limits.

In addition to these duties, the AP Accountant will participate in month-end close activities, which include preparing journal entries, reconciling accounts, and handling other accounting tasks as needed. The role requires a commitment to continuous improvement, as the AP Accountant will be expected to assist with enhancing accounting-related processes. This position is ideal for a detail-oriented professional with strong communication skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks under pressure.

Qualifications:

  • Associate's degree in accounting or equivalent experience.
  • 3-4 years of experience in accounting, with a focus on Accounts Payable.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting software and bookkeeping principles.
  • Experience with QuickBooks Enterprise is a plus.
  • Excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to multi-task in high-pressure situations.

Determining compensation for this role (and others) at Vaco depends upon a wide array of factors including but not limited to:

  • the individual's skill sets, experience and training;
  • licensure and certification requirements;
  • office location and other geographic considerations;

With that said, as required by local law, Vaco believes that the following salary range referenced above reasonably estimates the base compensation for an individual hired into this position in geographies that require salary range disclosure. The individual may also be eligible for discretionary bonuses.
