A day in the life...

Procurement Specialist is responsible for sourcing and procuring new products for the Marketplace. They consistently research new products in line with merchandising objectives, keeping the Market Manager abreast of potential new items and looking to the Market Manager for final decisions regarding new products.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Research and source new marketplace products under the guidance of the Market Manager.
  • Obtain samples, pricing and present your research and product options to the Market Manager for final decisions. Place orders for all new marketplace items when approved and coordinate deliveries.
  • Provide recommendations and analysis on performance of categories and products to inform pricing decisions for the Market Manager.
  • Identify new vendors. Be the point of contact for new vendors, ensuring relationships are maintained.
  • Be the liaison between vendors and Accounting to ensure new accounts are properly set up.
  • Approving invoices, receiving products, and maintaining inventory.
  • Setting up new products in accounting and POS systems.
Requirements

  • Previous grocery store and/or convenience store clerk/stocker/deli experience preferred (not required)
  • Ability to work well under pressure in a fun and fast paced environment.
  • Experience with cash handling and completing customer service transactions.
  • Ability to focus on attention to guest needs and customer service.
  • Computer Skills required- EG Microsoft office and other accounting software.
