**Job purpose:**

Plans and implements the safety program to ensure a safe, healthy, and accident-free work environment on every project for direct hire individuals and sub-contractors, alike. Also, works with the project team to ensure that the best possible outcome is achieved, with the following expectations: safety goals are achieved on every project, no accidents or near misses, no OSHA violations and employees have a positive attitude toward safe work practices.

**Duties and responsibilities:**

Assists with all aspects of the Environmental, Safety & Health Program.

* Development and maintenance of the written ESH Program manual

* Development of Site Specific Safety plans

* Ensures company meets or exceeds Environmental, Safety & Health compliance with federal, state, and local regulations

* Ensures all ESH training regulatory requirements are met and tracks all training records

* Develops weekly Toolbox Talks & tracks quantity by supervisors

* Ensures monthly superintendent ESH inspections are completed

* Performs ESH site audits

* New employee safety orientation program and drug testing

* Ensures JHAs are developed for all non-routine tasks and per project owner requirements

* Along with Risk Control Manager, ensures incident report forms are submitted in a timely manner and assist in incident investigations and follow-up reports

* Helps manage the respiratory protection program schedules employee evaluations, fit testing, and training

**Qualifications:**

* Degree in Safety Management, Occupational Safety & Health or related ESH degree

* 1-5 years experience in safety management

* Knowledge of governmental ES&H standards, rules, and regulations and proficiency in applying them to construction projects

* Working knowledge of safe work practices and experience in conducting accident investigations is highly desired

**Certifications:**

* 10-Hour OSHA

* 30-Hour OSHA

* First Aid/CPR

* Competent Person Fall Protection, will pursuit

**Other Functions:**

This position is assigned to the Corporate Office

* Some Travel between projects in MO area is required in this position

* Respond to emergency calls after normal hours

**Working conditions:**

Work is performed indoors and/or outdoors. The noise level is usually moderate to loud. While performing the duties of this position, the employee may be required to travel and be exposed to inclement weather including cold and heat. Ability to climb a ladder and crawl in small spaces (if required) and/or (bridges).

* You must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus

* The position requires that you will walk the construction site, climb ladders, climb stairs and walk on uneven ground

* Position will require employee to spend a large portion of their time on the project sites
