JOB DUTIES Provides specialized administrative consultative services to operational areas relating to the administration of student financial aid programs, primarily the Kentucky Educational Excellence Scholarship (KEES), Early Graduation Scholarship Certificate, and Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) Completion Initiative programs. Serve as the primary agency contact and coordinator for the KEES and Early Graduation Scholarship. Responsibilities include managing the awarding, disbursing and reconciliation processes. Respond to inquiries from students, parents, high schools, KEES coordinators, postsecondary institutions and others. Maintain a thorough knowledge of the computerized student aid systems. Work with IT to maintain and enhance databases for the KEES and Early Graduation Scholarship programs; maintain a detailed knowledge of the database and how to query and retrieve information. Coordinate loading and tracking of high school and postsecondary eligibility data, and mailings to KEES recipients. Work with staff at the Kentucky Department of Education to coordinate KEES data-related issues and awarding processes for the Early Graduation Scholarship certificate program. Serve as the primary agency contact and coordinator for the FAFSA Completion Initiative. Responsibilities include coordinating with high schools and other access providers regarding FCI data reports and execution of participation agreements. Perform effectiveness analysis and develop in-depth reports for the manager. Provide training, updates, and guidance to high schools, postsecondary institutions and others on program rules, regulations, and operational procedures. Perform investigations on problems which are unresolved through routine procedures and recommend solutions to alleviate problems. Recommend methods for cost-effective improvements in specific operations. Meet with a wide variety of personnel to examine and discuss rules, regulations and procedures. Maintain a working knowledge of all programs administered by the Student Aid Branch. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Bachelor’s degree. Two years of experience in educational administration, public administration, or financial administration. At least one year of administrative experience in student financial aid is preferred. Experience in educational administration, public administration, financial administration, or administrative experience in student financial aid will substitute for the required education on a year-for-year basis. Excellent organizational, prioritization, and problem-solving skills. Highly attentive to detail and accuracy. Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills.
