Job Summary

Under professional direction, to serve as the chief executive officer of an elementary school facility; to develop, implement and direct the formulation of operational procedures; to plan, develop, and implement instructional goals and objectives, procedures for evaluating program and activity effectiveness and conduct follow through activities pertaining to staff orientation, in-service, and staff performance evaluation; to plan develop, implement, and conduct public and community relations programs; and to do other related functions as directed.

Job Description / Essential Elements:

The Principal directly responsible to the Superintendent will provide leadership and administration which will motivate instructional and support personnel to strive for superior performance so as to provide best possible opportunities for student growth and development, both educationally and personally. In addition to the primary function, the elementary principal shall be responsible for: developing and administering the general school routine, and coordinate all activities within the school building. Evaluating teaching and classified personnel as well as existing programs and curriculum content. Planning and administering the school budget. Maintaining effective communication to keep the staff, students and parents properly informed. Performing all other duties as assigned to accomplish his/her primary function as requested by the Superintendent.
