Position Overview

Creative Arts Educator

ROLE DESCRIPTION:

Under the guidance of the Principal, the Creative Arts Educator is responsible for delivering art instruction to elementary students across various school locations.

This educator collaborates with classroom teachers and employs a range of contemporary, research-informed teaching methodologies tailored to address the diverse needs of all learners. The Creative Arts Educator may also oversee the activities of aides, teacher assistants, and other support staff.

The educator engages in continuous professional development to ensure the implementation of the most effective instructional practices.

They take accountability for the educational growth of all assigned students, utilizing diverse assessment methods to track student progress and guide instructional choices.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Facilitate engaging, standards-aligned art instruction in accordance with California Arts Standards


  • Establish and sustain conducive learning environments for students
  • Implement a variety of effective teaching strategies
  • Uphold and consistently apply school and district regulations
  • Design and execute instructional plans and learning experiences for all students utilizing diverse teaching methods


  • Evaluate student learning and provide tailored instruction to meet their academic requirements
  • Commit to ongoing professional growth through self-directed and district-sponsored staff development opportunities


  • Ensure appropriate supervision of students throughout the school day
  • Assign purposeful tasks to paraprofessionals, tutors, and volunteers as necessary
  • Communicate effectively with parents/guardians regarding individual student progress
  • Foster positive relationships among colleagues, staff, students, and parents/guardians
  • Actively contribute as a team member in the special education process when student needs warrant such involvement
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive arts program

Qualifications:

A Bachelor's Degree
Valid Teaching Credential in Art

Additional Information:
