Position Overview
PRIMARY THEATER EDUCATOR
ROLE DEFINITION:
Under the supervision of the Principal, the Primary Theater Educator is responsible for leading and instructing students in an elementary educational environment.
This educator collaborates with fellow teachers and employs a range of contemporary, research-driven teaching methodologies tailored to accommodate the diverse needs of all learners. Additionally, the Primary Theater Educator may oversee the activities of aides, teaching assistants, and other support staff.
Continuous professional development is a key aspect of this role, ensuring the implementation of the most effective instructional practices.
The educator is accountable for the academic growth of all assigned students, utilizing various assessment tools to track progress and guide instructional choices.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Facilitate and encourage student engagement in standards-aligned theater instruction, adhering to California Arts Standards.
- Establish and sustain conducive learning environments for student engagement.
- Implement a variety of effective teaching strategies.
- Uphold and consistently apply school and district regulations.
- Design and deliver instructional experiences tailored to the diverse learning needs of all students.
- Evaluate student performance and provide targeted instruction to meet their educational requirements.
- Commit to ongoing professional growth through self-directed and district-sponsored training opportunities.
- Ensure appropriate supervision of students throughout the school day.
- Delegate meaningful tasks to paraprofessionals, tutors, and volunteers as necessary.
- Maintain communication with parents/guardians regarding each student's progress.
- Foster positive relationships among colleagues, staff, students, and families.
- Actively engage as a collaborative team member in the special education process when student needs warrant such involvement.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree
Valid Teaching Credential in Music
