We are seeking a skilled Line Cook to join our team at Uptown Blanco Arts and Entertainment. As a Line Cook, you will be responsible for preparing and cooking food to high standards, ensuring a great dining experience for our guests.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook food items, including fish, beef, chicken, pork, etc., according to company specifications.
• Prepare sauces and/or garnishes as required by company specifications related to the specific menu item.
• Perform related work as assigned and as circumstance requires.
• Interact with vendors and customers when needed.
• Set up food stations and prepare the needed items for service.
• Keep all workstations, counters, equipment, and other kitchen areas clean and sanitary according to health and safety guidelines.
• Guarantee that food quality is adhered to, properly stored food and items while meeting waste control requirements.
• Follow established recipes and prepare foods to presentation standards.
• Cook food orders at stations by following established recipes and presentation standards for grilling, broiling, and sauting menu items.
• Demonstrate professional and pleasant demeanor when interacting with visitors, vendors, and associates.
• Adhere to established storage and waste control standards for meats, vegetables, fruits, and dairy products to ensure quality food is served.
• Establish a system of food stations and stock them with all of the necessary ingredients for the shift.

Requirements

• Possess strong work ethic.
• Ability to produce an excellent culinary and restaurant experience for patrons.
• Excellent time management, scheduling, managerial, and organizational skills.
• Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to work well with a variety of personalities and under pressure.
• Experience in food preparation work preferred.
• Graduation from a standard senior high school or equivalent is preferred.
• Must meet the minimum age requirement as prescribed by law.
• Possess or willing to obtain a valid Food Handler Certificate.

Physical Requirements

• Prolonged periods of standing and preparing and cooking food.
• Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds at times.
• Must be able to work in a kitchen environment that may involve exposure to extreme heat or cold.
