Accounting Clerk Robert Half is looking to hire an accounting clerk for a contract position at a well-respected organization. The primary responsibilities of the accounting clerk will be assisting in the process of accounts payable and accounts receivable, matching invoices to purchase orders and/or vouchers, and general forms of data entry. Responsibilities include uploading financial information to journals, registers, and ledgers, manually or by electronic equipment; organizing documents that require knowledge in determining proper classification of expenditure codes and accounting codes; companywide accounting and administration assistance: help with G/L account reconciliation and month-end closing, other ad hoc projects; rectifying transaction documents, which may involve revision of other documents or entries as well as the original; may initiate other actions; settling discrepancies by checking all possible sources of disagreement, reconstructing probable actions, and recognizing the effect on other accounts; preparing correction documents as required; monitoring budgets and originating or verifying adjustments and transfers; composing statements and reports that require utilization of a variety of sources; assisting accounts receivable: process daily invoices/credit, apply cash receipt, help with collection of past due balance; helping accounts payable: A/P invoice matching & filing, vendor invoices and disbursement filing. Requirements include a minimum of five plus years of accounting experience, account analysis experience preferred, account reconciliation experience required, strong communication and interpersonal skills (verbal, written, and listening), great attention to detail, excellent organizational and multi-tasking skills, and the ability to easily learn new systems.
