The VP/SrVP of Human Resources (VPHR/SrVPHR) is a key member of the Senior Leadership Team responsible for developing and executing a comprehensive human resources strategy for the university and its campus locations and subsidiaries.

The role is focused on leading the university’s people strategy and providing strategic human resources guidance and direction. The

officer will oversee all aspects of the university’s Human Resources (HR) operations including, but not limited to, employee relations, training, performance management, compensation and benefits, HRIS & metrics, and organizational development. REPORTS TO:

Develop and implement a comprehensive HR strategy that is aligned with the University’s strategic goals and objectives.

M

anage the development and implementation of policies, procedures, and programs to support human resources operations and maximize efficiency and effectiveness.

Ensure all HR functions are compliant with relevant laws, regulations, and best practices

. Oversee the performance management program, including providing guidance and support to managers on performance reviews and disciplinary action

. Develop and implement compensation and benefits programs to attract and retain top talent. Directs the administration of insurance, retirement, and other benefits programs. Evaluates and develops recommendations for improvements to faculty and staff employer-sponsored benefit programs. Develop and maintain positive employee relations by providing guidance and support to employees and managers. Complies with federal, state, and local legal requirements by studying existing and new legislation, anticipating legislative changes, enforcing adherence to requirements, and advising management on necessary actions. BEST Requirements to be considered for this role: Education Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, or related field from a regionally accredited college or university required. Experience/Knowledge Minimum of ten (10) years of practical work experience in human resources management required. Minimum of five (5) years of practical work experience in a leadership role, scheduling, organizing, prioritizing, supervising and directing the work of others required. Minimum of five (5) years of human resources experience in a multi-state organization of at least 1,500 employees with multiple locations and subsidiaries required. Demonstrated knowledge, understanding, and application of contemporary principles of human resource management required:

Ability to analyze problems and develop creative solutions to complex human resource issues

Skilled at employee development and performance management Proven ability developing performance management systems and measuring performance Knowledge with organizational development theory and practices Proven skill developing and implementing salary administration plans and programs Skill in design, implementation, and evaluation of employer-sponsored benefit programs Demonstrated ability examining and re-engineering operations and procedures, formulating policy, and developing and implementing new strategies and procedures required. Comprehensive knowledge of relevant human resources laws, regulations, and best practices required:

Able to interpret & advise on application of EEO/AA laws & regulations to faculty/staff hiring processes Able to interpret and advise on application of federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations including ADAAA, ADEA, COBRA, EEO, ERISA, FLSA,

FMLA, GINA, HIPAA, NLRA, OSHA, PPACA, Title-IX, and USERRA Knowledge of federal and state wage and salary laws and regulations Excellent interpersonal, communications, and leadership skills required:

Expertise in Employee Relations Ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituents in a diverse community Demonstrated ability fostering a cooperative work environment Strong business acumen required: Proven skill and ability preparing departmental/function budgets and fiscal management Ability to interpret business and operational needs and develop integrated, creative solutions Strong ability to think strategically and collaborate effectively with senior leadership and stakeholders required: Proven ability with strategic planning Prior experience with one or more HRIS, LMS, and ATS required. Minimum of intermediate proficiency with MS Office Suite (Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint) required. Certifications/Licenses/Registration The following professional certifications are

Professional in Human Resources (PHR) from the Human Resources Certification Institute (HRCI) Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) from the HRCI Society for Human Resource Management Certified Professional (SHRM-CP) Society for Human Resource Management Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP) BEST Qualifications for Success in this role: Strong prior experience with UltiPro HRIS and module plugins highly preferred. Prior experience working in a for-profit educational institution preferred. Knowledge of faculty and/or staff hiring procedures preferred. Strong tech-savvy – able to work seamlessly across various mobile devices and PC/Mac with various operating systems with HR SaaS technology and productivity software preferred. Experience with AI technology within human resources preferred.
