Location Description

We are thrilled to be fully reopening Wayfinder Newport in 2024
- a boutique hotel created by a group of local chefs, bartenders, artists, designers, and entrepreneurs who are proud to call Newport, RI home. A shared passion project, we've banded together to create a fresh take on the traditional Newport hotel experience. Wayfinder Newport boasts 187 rooms with 30 deluxe suites, a restaurant, and 2600 sq ft of event space. At Wayfinder Newport we pride ourselves on being the best employer in the area. Overview

We are looking for a highly motivated individuals to join our Front Desk team. The ideal candidate uses their engaging personality to create a memorable first impression for our guests. While checking in, registering guests, the Front Desk Agent is a source of knowledge for the guest for everything about the hotel, its amenities, and the local area.

Your Role:
  • Help guests discover their "Wanderlust" experience
  • Provide exceptional customer service by being engaging and taking sincere interest
  • Check guests in, ensuring proper credit is received, special requests are noted and fulfilled, and accurate information is established.
  • Help to resolve problems and "WOW" guests through recovery when things aren't quite right
  • Promote and sell special hotel programs.
  • Interact with hotel/resort staff in a professional manner, assisting other departments with necessary information.
  • Be knowledgeable of all emergency procedures and policies.
  • Maintain house bank.
  • Communicate all pertinent information to manager on duty.
  • Follow set procedures on posting, charges, cashing checks, safe deposits, and refunds.
  • Assist other departments as needed.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma preferred.
  • Prior hospitality experience preferred.
  • Neat, clean, and well groomed apprearance with pleasant personality
  • Time management skills
  • Ability to work on feet for an extended period
  • Ability to communicate effectively
  • Must be available to work nights, weekends, and holidays.

Compensation Range

The compensation for this position is $18.30/Hr. - $18.30/Hr. based on qualifications and experience.
