Mobile Application Developer

As a member of the Tommy Car Wash Systems Software Development Team located in Holland MI, you'll be working with our team of developers on consumer-facing products for car wash customers, owners, and managers in the USA and abroad. Position Responsibilities:
  • Architect and design mobile applications and features
  • Write efficient, clean, readable, fast, testable, documented, monitored code and systems
  • Contribute to the product development, mission, and success - way beyond checking off development tasks
  • Translate project specifications into detailed technical specifications.
  • Collaborate with other developers to deliver compelling user-facing products
  • Work closely with internal and external team members to achieve our mission. This will range from working with our franchise partners to wash guests.
  • Participate in, and be familiar with Agile (Scrum) project methodology and practices
  • Provide support for any issue that is or may cause system downtime
Position Qualifications & Candidate Attributes:
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or related degree
  • 3+ years mobile application development experience
  • PostgreSQL, Node.js, Express.js, Typescript
  • Experience in React Native
  • Experience in Swift and/or Kotlin
  • Experience with API management
  • Familiarity with Push Notification services
  • Amazon AWS, Azure Cloud, or other cloud hosting services
  • Writing integration and unit tests
  • Experience with automated CI/CD environments and tools
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to learn/adapt to new technologies
  • Top-notch communication skills
  • Passion for building great software
  • Willingness to learn new skill, technologies, and frameworks when needed
  • Willingness for minor travel
  • Work with remote team members

Supervisory Responsibility

This position has no direct supervisory responsibilities upon hire. May change in the future.

Work Environment and Physical Demands

This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and operates primarily indoors.

To successfully perform the essential functions of this job, team member must be able to:
  • Ability to work and commute in all weather conditions
  • Able to move about inside the office to access standard office equipment, etc.
  • Remain in a stationary position 50% of the time, alternating between sitting and standing
  • Constantly operate a computer and other office productivity machinery such as; keyboard, copy machine and printer
  • Ability to move and lift up to 30 pounds
  • Able to effectively communicate, listen, detect, converse with, discern, convey, express oneself and exchange information
  • Able to walk, bend, twist, turn, stoop, climb steps, reach with hands, use hands to fingers
  • Remain in a stationary position 90% of the time
  • Able to work in a fast pace environment
  • Constantly operate a computer and other office productivity machinery such as; calculator, copy machine and printer
