Accountant (Entry Level)

Primary Function:
Handle a range of accounting responsibilities with general supervision, and develop your skills in applying accounting principles, theories, and concepts to specific systems.
Typical Duties:
+ Review and process vendor/subcontractor invoices for payment by verifying them against purchase orders, contracts, material receiving reports, and other necessary documentation.
+ Prepare control data and integrate it with other necessary information for payroll processing.
+ Prepare control documents for use in reconciling payroll, payables and receivables transactions.
+ Gather cost data for different levels, including accounts, units, and work orders.
+ Prepare closing statements, reports, and invoices on a daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual basis.
+ Assist VP of Finance on additional assignments
Skills, Knowledge, Qualifications, & Experience
Educational and experience requirements are: a 4-year degree in business or accounting, or a combination of equivalent training and experience. A basic understanding of accounting and auditing procedures and techniques is also beneficial.
Comments:
This is an entry-level professional role. While it may involve some clerical tasks, it is distinguished from non-professional positions by the range of assignments and the level of development expected. (FLSA Exempt)
