Shift Operations Lead Specialist

Job Summary

The Operations Lead Specialist role is a multi-faceted operations role with responsibilities including leading production team members under the direction of the shift Production Supervisor and ensuring each production operation is supported to fulfill production goals. This progressive leadership role also has a strong emphasis on ensuring the operations team members strive to offer Bev-Hub's clients the utmost in high quality products delivered on time in the right quantities.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Under the direction of the Shift Supervisor, the Operations Lead Specialist is responsible for leading the operations team members to ensure alignment to production goals is understood and met, adequate staffing requirements are maintained, and filling team member resource gaps where they may exist. This position will aid is covering or mitigating resource gaps in:
    ? Basic batching operations (not including transfer of product between tanks and homogenization operations).
    ? De-palletizer operations
    ? Can filling operations.
    ? Basic retort functions (not including recipe downloads, retort start-up, cook cycle manipulations, etc.).
    ? Sleeving operations
    ? Packaging operations both trays and boxes or cartons
    ? Palletizing operations
    ? Stocking various operations with supplies including batch kits, de-palletizer, sleever, packaging, and palletizer
  • Maintaining appropriate operational data logs including but not limited to sanitation logs, operational checks, day X hr logs, production recordings, etc
  • Ensure can filled processing remains consistent hour by hour by aiding in:
    • Helping or training new team members and encouraging the proper transfer of knowledge
    • Filling in for team members on break, vacation, or absent in general
    • Aiding the shipping and receiving team as needed with inbound/outbound shipments, dunnage removal, waste removal, etc
    • Raw and finished good material or pallet movement in-between process or at the point of use for machine(s)
    • Aiding in machine or product changeover or the diagnosing of machine issues outside of maintenance responsibility
    • Team member attendance tracking and monitoring
    • Safety or Quality incident investigations
    • Spurring the rapid response for product offload and transfer if a machine or process is down halting the physical transfer of product from process to process
    • Aiding in the proper cleaning and sanitizing of all equipment and production areas of the facility when needed
  • Ensure all chemical or secondary containers are correctly labeled
Basic Requirements:
  • Maintain Good Manufacturing Practices
  • Inspects, promotes, and maintains adherence to food safety cleanliness in the handling of products, ingredients, and finished goods using proper work procedures and compliance with Food Safety Standards
  • Keeps neat, accurate records of all work performed daily
  • Maintain clean, sanitary, and safe work areas when applicable
  • Follow all required safe work practices, and wears all required PPE in designated areas: confined space safety, safe chemical handling, etc
  • Report any food safety, quality, or safety-related issues to management
  • Organized and high level of attention to detail
  • Mechanically inclined
Minimum Position Qualifications:
  • Ability to work well with others and fix or communicate issues in a timely manner
  • Expert attention to detail
  • Must always wear personal protective equipment
  • Participates actively in all plant safety initiatives, programs, and training sessions
  • Position will normally be a set schedule however, the ability to work a flexible work week or workday schedule based on operational needs is required
  • The ability to recognize different personalities and be able to communicate instructions or feedback clearly and positively
  • Demonstrated understanding and practical production run experience in multiple process including but not limited to:
    • Basic batching operations (not including transfer of product between tanks and homogenization operations)
    • De-palletizer operations
    • Can filling operations
    • Basic retort functions (not including recipe downloads, retort start-up, cook cycle manipulations, etc.)
    • Sleeving operations
    • Packaging operations both trays and boxes or cartons
    • Palletizing operations
    • Stocking various operations with supplies including batch kits, de-palletizer, sleever, packaging, and palletizer
Physical Requirements:
  • Lifting to 10 pounds constantly, 11-50 pounds regularly, and above 50 pounds occasionally
  • Carrying up to 10 pounds constantly, 11-50 pounds regularly, and above 50 pounds occasionally
  • Reach above, at, and below shoulder height constantly
  • Pushing and pulling constantly
  • Twisting, bending, squatting, kneeling, crouching, climbing, and balancing may also be required frequently
