Louisville, United States Stantec Full time

Many of the world's top engineers and scientists come together in our Water business because they view a community's interaction with water a bit differently-as a single holistic system, rather than unconnected networks divided by jurisdictional boundaries. Working throughout the hydrologic cycle, we are delivering sustainable solutions to make sure water is where it should be and available when needed. Our experts guide our work with scientific rigor, an innovative spirit, and a vision for growth. Every day, we help communities improve, reuse, and protect this precious resource for future generations. By 2025 we're hiring 2,000 people (like you) to join our team. Grow with us, H2O+U.

Here at Stantec we are pushing the boundaries of innovation, and we are now pursuing a highly motivated and technically capable GIS Analyst to join our Geospatial Discipline within the Water Delivery business unit. We collaborate closely with our colleagues and clients to meet the challenges they face within the water resources and related industries, including energy, transportation, risk assessment, environmental management, sustainability, and resiliency.

The selected candidate can be based at one of the Stantec offices across the Southern U.S., and we offer flexible work arrangements (e.g., in-office, hybrid, virtual). Preference would be one of the following locations: Louisville, KY, Lexington, KY, or San Antonio, TX.

  • Support project tasks related to community & stakeholder engagement
  • Work with project teams to determine the optimal approach for using geospatial technologies to meet client needs, accurately estimate the corresponding level of effort, and then see implementation through to completion.
  • Approach each task, regardless of size and scope, as an opportunity to rethink the traditional ways data is collected, managed, visualized, and delivered.
  • Produce concise, clear, and compelling cartographic output, both dynamic and static, with a keen eye for aesthetics.
  • Develop, configure, and manage dynamic and impactful web GIS applications.
  • Balance a high level of creativity with adherence to established Stantec GIS standards and best practices.
  • Always be persistent and diligent about quality, both in one's own work and the work of others.
  • Actively engage in the greater GIS community, both locally and beyond, staying aware of the state of practice, new tools and technology, and opportunities for growth.
  • Maintain a high regard for personal safety and the safety of others.

Your capabilities and credentials
  • Relevant degree in geospatial related field such as Geography, GIS, Environmental, Planning

    • Exposure to Arcade, Python, FME, ModelBuilder, ArcGIS API for Python.
    • Knowledge of Esri's ArcGIS Utility Network
