SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS:

+ Must possess a current, unencumbered license to practice as an RN in this state.

+ Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.

+ Must possess the ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such actions.

+ Must possess the ability to deal tactfully with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, government agencies/personnel and the general public.

+ Must be knowledgeable of nursing and medical practices and procedures, as well as laws, regulations, and guidelines that pertain to long term care.

+ Must be knowledgeable in the privacy rule, comply with facilitys privacy practices, train staff in the same and provide additional training if changes are made to policies and/or there is staff non-compliance.

+ Must possess leadership and supervisory ability and willingness to work harmoniously with professional and non-professional personnel.

+ Must possess the ability to plan, organize, develop, implement, and interpret the programs, goals, objectives, policies, and procedures, etc., that are necessary for providing quality care.

+ Must have patience, tact, a cheerful disposition, and enthusiasm, as well as the willingness to handle difficult residents.

+ Must be willing to seek out new methods and principles and be willing to incorporate them into existing nursing practices.

+ Must be able to communicate effectively to appropriate personnel regarding emergency situations.

+ Must possess accurate and comprehensive assessment skills to ensure standards of nursing practice.

+ Must possess skills in leadership and communication.

+ Must possess creativity, integrity, and initiative.

EXPERIENCE:Must have as a minimum, one (1) year Nursing Supervisor experience in a long-term care facility.Must have one (1) year experience in staff education.

EDUCATION:Must possess, as a minimum, a Registered Nursing Degree from an accredited school of nursing, college or university. Must be CPR certified.
