Your role
Applications Specialist with primary responsibility being knowledge expert in dietary supplements in gummy, tablet and capsule formats as well as cereals / pan coating. This position is for a project team member who can execute on reactive or proactive projects within the Health Business Unit leading to winning solutions for our customers. An ideal candidate is someone with experience in either product development or flavor development who has the capacity to deliver high-quality results in a fast-paced, dynamic, and collaborative environment. Candidates must be open to learning new cross-category skills to better support all Sweet Application initiatives. An ability to communicate cross-functionally with flavorists, project management, sales, and marketing is necessary.

A.Manage and execute on application projects primarily focused on dietary supplements. Knowledge required to formulate and create base for flavor and health active ingredient screening (bases may also be provided by customers); to develop quality prototypes for our internal and external customers; and to identify, assess & apply enabling flavor technologies (application of encapsulated flavors & flavor release) and health active ingredients to create product innovations. Maintain laboratory note book / project management systems with project details and formulations.

B.Manage and execute dietary supplement projects, with flexibility to support other sweet areas like cereals, & dairy. Knowledge required to formulate and create base for flavor and health active ingredient screening (bases may also be provided by customers) and to develop quality prototypes for our internal and external customers. Demonstrate creativity and in-depth development knowledge in prototype/concept.

C.Support sales and marketing groups by developing new and creative prototypes for demonstrating the company's flavors through both project work and presentations.

D.Train and support trials on pilot plant-scale equipment.

E.Must maintain and manage equipment in good working order to support safety and operation.

F.Travel to customers as needed. Host outside consultants or customers for Symrise visits as needed.

Other Functions: A: Support Food BU on lab organization, shipping receiving, support other SBU as needed.

About you
Knowledge and Experience Requirements:

- Bachelors in Food Science would be considered (Masters preferred).
- Minimum 2 years of experience in the dietary supplement (Preferred gummy and tablets) & related field of the food industry
- Knowledge of flavor application development and health active ingredient application product development.
- Technical knowledge of ingredient functionality and processing equipment used in the dietary supplement industry.

Skills & Abilities:

- Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic team environment and demonstrate ability to learn on the job
- Good communication and interpersonal skills are required for working cross-functionally with flavorists, business development, R&T, sales, category management, and marketing
- Ability to work seamlessly in both a lab and office environment and able to deliver programs on time, with excellent quality, and within budget parameters.
-Microsoft Office, formulation system experience

Safety/Regulatory Training Requirements:

-RTK Training, Hazardous waste management, DOT Samples
