The intern will experience a fast-paced, dynamic, and professional environment of communications, public and media relations, digital content creation and management. The intern will learn about Mayor Johnston and his initiatives, Denver municipal government and public service. This opportunity is available from September-December 2024 for 15 weeks. This is a part-time internship requiring 16-20 hours per week during normal business hours which are 8:00am - 5:00pm. Hours/schedule are flexible but this position is IN-PERSON.This internship is a tremendous opportunity for a communications-minded individual to have meaningful involvement within a working communications office for an elected official. The intern will report to the Communications Specialist and Communications Director and will receive real-time feedback on performance as well as a review at the end of the internship.The intern will be involved with variety of tasks, including media tracking, drafting media advisories and press releases, creating digital content, editing digital and written content, and pitching to news organizations. The intern will have the opportunity to own and lead on certain processes and will be involved in regular team meetings with senior leadership.
