Corporate Deal Data Specialist Cooley is seeking a Corporate Deal Data Specialist to join the

IS Knowledge Management & Innovation

team.
Position summary:

Under general direction from the Knowledge Services Attorney, the Corporate Deal Data Specialist is responsible for the review of deal information provided by attorneys, data entry into the deal data tracking database, responding to inquiries and requests from attorneys and marketing teams regarding data and generating routine analytical reports. Responsibilities include, but not limited to:
Position responsibilities

:
Create and maintain a system for cataloguing and tracking Companies practice group deals with both transactional and external data
Leverage existing workflows for tracking of deal status from open to close
Gather deal data from file management system, secretaries/practice team assistants and attorneys, where necessary
Interact with attorneys as needed for clarity on transactional details
Input deal data into internal deal tracking software
Provide regular progress reports to Knowledge Services Attorney and other stakeholders, as needed
Review data on a regular basis for inconsistencies and gaps to be remediated
Serve as internal expert on data and database systems, assisting peers with locating, interpreting and analyzing data in support of business needs
Monitor support inbox for internal data tracking and respond to questions and requests for data from attorneys, marketing teams and other users
Work with the Knowledge Services attorney and administrative team for our deal tracking software to clean up data and make changes and improvements to the system
All other duties as assigned or required
Skills and experience:
Required:
After orientation at Cooley LLP, exhibit proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite; iManage and other firm applications
Demonstrable ability to analyze and manipulate data using Microsoft Excel,
Available to work overtime, as required
2+ years of direct-related experience as a paralegal or working in a law firm on Private Equity Venture Financing, M&A, Public Offerings or other corporate law transactions, specifically reviewing, and interpreting corporate term sheets and other corporate deal documents. Alternatively, 2+ years of direct-related experience working in a law firm knowledge management, data analysis or accounting position providing data analysis and management for corporate law transactions
Preferred:
Bachelor's Degree
JD
Experience using Litera's Foundation platform
Experience searching for and using data from Salesforce and Pitchbook platforms
Prior law firm or professional legal environment experience
Competencies:
An understanding of the value of data and an eye for uncovering insights that will help drive business growth
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills- including ability to respond in a timely and professional manner to requests and questions from attorneys, marketing team and others
Outstanding customer service skills

Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with demonstrated ability to coordinate multiple competing tasks and demands

The expected hourly pay range for this position is $46.50 - $68.00. Please note that final offer amount will be dependent on geographic location, applicable experience and skillset of the candidate.
