Role: The Senior Quantitative Financial Analyst will be a key role within the Finance Division to help advance understanding of the credit union's balance sheet and unit profitability. This individual will report to the Vice President of Finance and perform studies related to Profitability, Capital Adequacy, and ALM. The Senior Quantitative Financial Analyst ensures that all reporting adheres to current Accounting Standards, NCUA requirements and industry best practices including coordination and resolution of all audit and regulatory examinations.

Essential Functions & Responsibilities:

  • Advises on the Funds Transfer Pricing process based on sound quantitative methods that support the credit union's balance sheet.
  • Maintains profitability database and makes recommendations for efficiency improvements and product pricing including analysis of complex business/product issues, incorporating company and industry knowledge, mathematical and technical expertise and solid analytical processes.
  • Prepares, understands and implements allocations for profitability reporting, including report preparation and analysis, making recommendations to all levels of management related to allocation rules and industry best practices.
  • Presents findings and recommendations for cost savings and profit generation to management including managing multiple relationships across the organization. Responsible for profitability reporting for the Asset/Liability Committee (ALCO)
  • Assists with the Annual NCUA Exam.
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
Experience: Seven or more years of experience in a quantitative financial position is required. Financial Services industry experience preferred.

Education: Bachelor's degree in Statistics, Finance, Economics, or in a related field is required. Master's degree in aforementioned fields could be substituted for experience.

Other skills required/preferred:
  • Advanced knowledge of Excel is required.
  • SQL knowledge is highly preferred.
  • Experience with Empyrean software is preferred.
