JOB SUMMARY:
Establish, administer, and direct the program of Assertive Community Treatment (ACT), a self-contained clinical team that assumes responsibility for directly providing needed treatment, rehabilitation, and support services to identified individuals with severe and persistent mental illnesses; supervises and evaluates the multidisciplinary team in conjunction with appropriate psychiatric support to ensure service excellence and courteous, helpful, and respectful services to program clients; and functions as a practicing clinician on the team.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Direct the day-to-day clinical operations of the ACT team including to lead the daily organizational staff meetings and treatment planning meetings; to continuously evaluate the status of clients and do appropriate planning and coordination of treatment activities to ensure immediate attention to their changing needs.
- Direct and coordinate the client admission process and treatment, rehabilitation, and support services of the program in coordination with the psychiatrist. To schedule the admission interview; develop and coordinate the initial assessment and initial treatment plan; assign the most appropriate staff to the individual treatment team (ITT); and provide clinical supervision of the development of the comprehensive assessment and the treatment plan for each client.
- Direct and coordinate, for each client, the client-centered comprehensive assessment of psychiatric history (e.g., onset, course and effect of illness, past treatment and responses, and risk behaviors), mental status, and diagnosis; physical health and dental health; use of drugs or alcohol; education and employment; social development and functioning; activities of daily living (e.g., self-care, living situation, nutrition, money management); and family structure and relationships.
- Participate in staff recruitment, interviewing, hiring, work assignments, and orientation and performance supervision according to work rules, regulations, and policies and collective bargaining agreements; develop and implement staff orientation and training; and manage student training.
- Supervise medical records management assuring maintenance of the medical record in compliance with agency policies, Medicaid, and other third-party payment requirements; train staff on medical record requirements; regularly review client assessments, treatment plans, and progress notes written by the staff; and work closely with the CEC Quality Assurance Coordinator.
- Develop and maintain program policies and procedures and revise as necessary.
- Maintain a caseload of individuals in need of counseling services
OTHER DUTIES:
- Develop and participate in on-call and holiday service delivery.
- Perform such other duties as assigned by supervisor.
- Strong Clinical Skills and experience providing treatment to persons with severe and persistent mental illness.
- Supervisory and program management experience preferred.
- Clear understanding of the characteristics and problems of adults with severe and persistent mental illness and substance addictions.
- Knowledge of Assertive Community Treatment Model.
- Ability to develop and manage a clinical treatment team.
Minimum Requirements
EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION REQUIRED:
ACT team lead I - (Level 15) Masters Degree in Social Work, Psychology, or a related field that is eligible for supervised residency towards LPC, LCSW, or LMFT must either be completed or pending completion from a KCREP accredited institution within 3 months of contingent job offer.
ACT team lead II - (Level 16) Master's Degree in Social Work, Psychology, or a related field; Licensure required. (Licensed as a LPC, LMFT, or LCSW.)
Valid driver's license with a safe driving record.
