Position Purpose

Under occasional supervision, will provide support for various tax department functions. Will work with Tax Director on various tax filings while also handling administrative tasks..

Principal Duties & Responsibilities

* Preparation of municipal tax returns on quarterly and annual basis.

* Preparation of personal property tax and sales tax return filings throughout the year.

* Submits quarterly and annual filings with various State insurance departments and insurance organizations.

* Assists Tax Director with annual 1099 reporting process and annual insurance premium tax returns.

* Handles issuing and mailing of tax payments and insurance assessments throughout the year.

* Review uncashed payments and supports with unclaimed property report filings to States.

* Performs monthly reconciliations for various tax accounts.

* Organizes tax files and records.

Education & Experience

* Typically requires a associates degree in accounting or a related field

* 0-2+ years of experience

* [OR] equivalent level of education and experience

Knowledge, Skills, & Competencies

* Strong aptitude with Microsoft Excel.

* Prior experience with tax software preferred.

* Ability to communicate findings and recommendations to team and/or management on tax accounting matters.

* Ability to communicate effectively with internal and external contacts on tax accounting matters.

* Ability to manage multiple projects and/or priorities simultaneously.
