Exempt Position Summary The Food Donor and Product Procurement Manager formulates strategy and develops plans to source donations and purchase food and groceries from various sources in the food industry including manufacturers, distributors, farmers, and supermarkets. This position is responsible for cultivating existing relationships and forging new ones with potential donors to secure a steady flow of food donations from local food donors, network partners, and vendors. What You’ll Do Responsible for upholding the company values of Safety, Courtesy, Show, Efficiency, and Inclusion.

Develop and cultivate new food donors including retailers, processors, manufacturers, restaurants, growers and institutions, processors throughout our service area to ensure food donations increase annually. Cultivate current food donors to increase yields (both frequency and amount) while preventing attrition. Collaborate with Operations team to make the most efficient use of transportation and other logistics needed for handling donations. Provide required monthly, quarterly, and annual reports as required by food donors, Feeding America, USDA, and food bank leadership Create and execute, donor recognition program. Determines form and frequency of solicitations and develops a system of donor tracking, reporting and acknowledgments. Ensure inventory needs are met for all programs through coordination and procurement. Works with the Warehouse and Operations teams to communicate incoming shipments and create strategies to reduce waste. Provide ongoing training and support to retail partners and internal staff involved in sourcing and moving donations through the retail store donation program. Host industry visits and tours demonstrating our mission and the importance of donors to impact the communities we serve. Demonstrates a commitment to the mission and vision. Display a desire and capacity to work with culturally diverse populations using a compassionate, collaborative, and respectful approach. Support a culture of continuous improvement by identifying and communicating process and safety improvements. Follow all safety policies and procedures, including reporting all unsafe acts and behaviors, safety hazards, incidents, or accidents immediately.

2 to 5 years’ experience operations/warehouse management; non-profit program management required and experience in customer relations, sales, and food industry preferred. Four-year college degree or equivalent experience in a related field Strong team management abilities Demonstrated ability to interface successfully with coworkers Ability to communicate with outside vendors and hold vendors accountable to achieve agreed upon terms. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Working knowledge of community resources and industry standards Understanding of social service and anti-hunger programs. General knowledge of inventory systems and processes. Solid acumen in the Microsoft Office suite of programs. Organizational skills and the ability to prioritize multiple projects Ability to maintain a flexible schedule. Able to work some evenings and weekends as needed. A valid driver’s license for the past three years; clean driving record (no points or moving violation within the last three years).

Class A CDL License Standard Transmission allowed

Ability to relate effectively and professionally with other staff, volunteers, agency representatives and the public. Ability to lift and move 50 pounds. Whom You’ll Work With

This position will interface with staff members and the leadership team. Additionally, this role will work with community partners. This position works primarily in a working warehouse and office setting. Comfortable working in extreme hot or cold temperatures. Frequent exposure to moving mechanical parts. Must be comfortable in a loud work environment. The employee must be able to stand/walk for long periods of time. The employee frequently is required to stop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and talk or hear. Occasionally, this role is required to respond to organizational needs outside of normal company hours.
