**Job Description and Job Responsibilites**
**Job Title: Cook**
**Job Summary:**
Prepares and cooks food according to HACCP and all regulatory standards including title 22 & Joint Commission.
**Essential Job Duties:**
* Prepares and cooks to order foods requiring short preparation time.
* Reads food order or receives verbal instructions on food required by patron, prepares and cooks food according to instruction. Has knowledge about different diets and consistencys.
* Provides the highest quality of service to customers at all times.
* Follows basic recipes and/or product directions for preparing, seasoning, and cooking.
* Prepares foods by operating a variety of kitchen equipment to measure and mix ingredients
* Follows safe food handling procedures for food preparation, cooking, holding and storage of all food items and assists in the monitoring of HACCP. Takes corrective action as needed.
* Check temperatures and logs results per procedure.
* Cleans and sanitizes work stations and equipment.
* Assists with cafeteria set-up and break down of hot food items.
* May be responsible for hot server position.
* All other duties as assigned.

**Job Requirements**
**Education/Experience:**
* High school graduate preferred
* 1 to 2 years of current experience in an acute care setting preferred
* Serv-safe preferred
**Licensure/Certifications:** None
