Summary of Responsibilities
The Budget Manager will oversee the development, monitoring, and enhancements of property budgets. This role requires leveraging financial data, operational expertise, and deep knowledge of excel and experience in Yardi Voyager. With a strong background in property management and financial analysis, this individual will work closely with operations and accounting teams to enhance financial performance, troubleshoot issues, and ensure alignment with company and client objectives.
Primary Responsibilities and Objectives
•Proven leadership experience: Demonstrated ability to manage, develop, and inspire a team toward achieving company objectives
•Develop, implement, and manage budgeting processes for multiple properties and regions
•Collaborate with regional managers, property accountants, and other stakeholders to gather necessary data for budget preparation and forecasting
•Ensure all budgetary data aligns with financial reporting standards and organizational goals
•Train and support operations in understanding budget processes, financial reporting, and tools like Excel and Yardi Voyager
•Foster a collaborative environment: Encourage teamwork and cross-departmental collaboration to drive budget accuracy and operational excellence
•Perform other duties as assigned
Education and Experience
•High school diploma is required. Bachelor's degree is preferred
•Five or more years of property management experience is required. Experience as a property manager or equivalent is preferred
•Two or three years of experience in Yardi Voyager, Real Page, or other equivalent system is preferred
Skills and Requirements
•Proficient in Microsoft Office products, particularly Excel, with expertise in advanced formulas, pivot tables, and financial modeling
•Strong troubleshooting skills, especially in resolving budget discrepancies and software issues
•Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret large data sets and make data-driven decisions
•Excellent communication skills, with the ability to present financial data clearly to stakeholders at all levels
•Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams
•Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment
•Knowledge of property management principles and financial reporting processes
•Sensitivity to confidential information and a strong attention to detail
•Required to complete and successfully pass the Avenue5 Fair Housing and Preventing Discrimination and Harassment training and other courses if assigned
Scheduling
•Required to maintain a regular schedule which may require working outside business hours, weekends, and non-traditional holidays
•Ability to travel (5%)
Environment
•Exposure to an environment typically found in an office building
