The Group Chief Risk Officer VicePresidency's (CRO) mission is to enable and support the institution to achieveits goals in a financially sustainable manner. The VPU assists management withidentifying and managing Group-wide cross-cutting risks, enhancing riskresponse decisions, reducing financial and operational surprises and losses,seizing opportunities, and improving deployment of capital.

The VPU has three departments :

(1) Credit Risk Department (CROCR) responsible for ensuringthat the Bank's credit risk exposure is commensurate with the risk appetite ofstakeholders and strikes the appropriate balance between financial anddevelopment objectives;

(2) Market and Counterparty Risk Department (CROMC)responsible for overseeing market, commercial counterparty credit, and modelrisks; and

(3) Operational risk department (CROOR) responsible for assistingbusiness units in identifying, assessing, and managing operational risk. CROOR consists of Operational RiskManagement, Enterprise Risk Management and Business Continuity Management

The BCM coordinates the BusinessContinuity program (including Crisis Management) for IBRD and MIGA The RiskOfficer is responsible for leading and coordinating the development, implementation,and continuous improvement of the WB Business Continuity Program. The Risk Officer will provide projectmanagement expertise to the ongoing program implementation as well as stra

Dutiesand Accountabilities
The Business Continuity Risk Officer isresponsible for the following tasks:

Leads and oversees the annual business continuity work program for assigned business units including Bank's Vice-Presidential Units, Bank's Satellite Office, Regional Offices and MIGA. The annual program includes criticality assessments, business impact analyses, plan updates, plan training and plan exercises.

Acts as system administrator for the Fusion Risk Management System that contains business continuity and related data. Maintains data quality and feeds from upstream and downstream systems. Enables system enhancements and changes to configurations. Produces detailed system reporting and analysis based on system data.

Collaborates in the design of Bank-wide training/skills enhancement initiatives to maintain awareness throughout the Bank and ensure effective transfer of crisis management and business continuity knowledge/skills.

Identify areas for ongoing improvement and enhancement. Leads ad-hoc projects and strategic initiatives.

Coordinate recovery efforts in cases of emergencies and significant disruptions, assisting the WBG Crisis Management Team (CMT) (and local CMTs as applicable) and the time critical business units in the recovery of their time critical processes.

Assists in the Bank-wide coordination of recovery efforts in cases of emergencies and significant disruptions and in any related mitigation actions.

Coordinates the preparation of reporting information, including data collection, review, and reporting.

Coordinates the quarterly update of business continuity indicators: collects information from the different units and prepares quarterly reports.

Leads other projects or tasks as may be assigned by the BCM Manager or CROOR management team.

Selection Criteria

  • Required qualifications and experience
  • Masters degree (or equivalent experience).Minimum of 7 years of experience in either one or more of these areas: business continuity management, crisis management, security, operational risk management, process optimization and mapping, strategy, and organization consultancy.
  • Demonstrated experience of interacting effectively internal and externally with top management.
  • Experience in working with diverse international clients and in different cultures.
  • Experience in using the Fusion Risk Management System as user and/or administrator (or other business continuity software)
  • Fluent in French and/or Spanish
